Well I have to admit, I believe in the term "action speaks louder than words"! But I have to say, the British definitely add their own style to things. I found "Coupling" far more humourous than "friends" although clearly intended for a mature audience given the nature of the humour itself.

Reminds me of a joke which I found in a dear old man's collection of humour from articles in the Deccan herald. A lady who was pregnant and needed insurance had left the option "Pregnant: Yes or No" blank. Irked by this laziness, the insurance executive placed a call to her and said, "Please state whether you are pregnant or not so that we can do the needful".

All things said and done, Heffner has been there and done that. Not the best life I would want but I admire the man for recognising the obvious market and capitalising on the available opportunities. Lets see how Branson fares. As for Mrs. Singh, well in the spirit of equality of sexes, I admire thee. If men need playbody, I am certain women would need something for themselves as well.

<abbr><em>Ashok´s last blog post..<a href="http://iamdumberthaneinstein.blogspot.com/2009/06/vacation-thoughts.html" rel="nofollow">Vacation thoughts</a></abbr></em>

Let me share a story about my neighbour's 82 year old widower uncle without any children. He got someone from his village send a widow to care for him and managed to get a 45 year old one. A year later, he had to marry her as she was pregnant! When people suggested that the lady may have been fooling around, he used to snap, "Send your daughter of sister and see what happens!" I am not exaggerating. This is a true story. So why not Heffner?

You know, Ramana, you say you are not getting funny ideas in your old age. I know what you mean. The more I advance along the time line, the fewer funny ideas I get myself!

How do you suppose Hefner does carry on that lifestyle? Lie about it? Next thing you know, Grannymar will have him playing quoits!

Good for you Rose. I don't read such stuff either. I have sent a separate mail to you about the glitch with the link. You should find it working alright in the future.

Thank you for that vote of confidence. To the best of my knowledge, Sir Richard is unlikely to be impressed with what Branson, Missouri has to offer. He is more likely to go after what will please the hoi poloi! He is likely to find Branson, Missouri too highbrow for his liking. You however never know in these matters as, there is likely to be some emotional attachment to the shared name, and if someone dug up some connection somewhere in the remote past, things may change.
Incidentally, I am not on very intimate terms with Sir Richard. I move in a different orbit.

Rummy---you just won the best headline of the day award. Good going. Any truth to the rumor that Richard Branson is buying Branson, Missouri?

I'm sorry. I'm not fond of this kind of reading materials. :)
By the way, Ramana, there were few times that your name is not clickable on my comment pages. I don't understand why. I had to go through my "Recommendation Monday" post, the one that I featured about your blog, to be able to come here in your blog.
Anyway, have a happy weekdays. :)
