Not to worry Ashok. India is Pavithra Bhumi. It has survived successfully for thousands of years and today is on its nth upward climb on the sigmoid curve. We shall get there despite the best efforts of our leaders and bureaucrats.

I have to agree with your post. I think we have to recognise the infirmities that built up into a system we all thought worked well. Bailout packages are at the maximum a small short term measure. Increasing investments, creating jobs and investing into building quality based human resources is where our focus should be. Communism failed in the soviet union and one might be tempted to argue that capitalism failed in the U.S.A. Bottom line we have to be dynamic and not static trying to borrow ideas that work from different idealogies.

Oh by the way Hi, I haven't been commenting so much lately!
You have been having some great posts! Thanks! You always keep me informed and I appreciate that. It's great to get a broader perspective of all India's internal affairs!
I think all of nations are coping with a big global economic change as technology hinders job availabilty. As innovations happen hopefully the world of business will help itself out of this mess.

Namaste,
Diane

Hi Ramana,

I think many of these ideas are very good. Though I too think that governments should not dictate the private sectors wages. Though I do see a need especially in government jobs to have a policy of cuts in the top end administraters when having to make drastic cuts. I think its a moral boost when everyone takes a hit not just the lower end workers.
It is certainly true that you need a base of employee within a country to support its growth.

Namaste,

Yes, time for action is now. India will now go into a semi comatose condition due to the impending elections, adding to the problems. We have survived worse things and we shall do so again! India does well despite our politicians and bureaucrats.

The only thing for sure in all this is that the trouble is huge, real - and includes all of us. I haven't the economic sophistication to judge the value of many of the solutions. I have no idea what will work and what won't, because the degree and depth of this has caught me totally by surprise,

This piece makes a great deal of sense in many areas to me. However, I don't put much stock in something making sense to me right now.

Conrad´s last blog post..How to Write a Conversational Blog… And Why!
