An Incredible Story.

by Rummuser

An Englishman’s spirit to fight cancer has won him two long shot bets and he has just bet for a third round. I salute John Mathews of Buckinghamshire, UK for his indomitable spirit, as I am sure my readers will too.

Please read BBC’s story.

  1. I lived with that kind of spirit for four years. When Jack’ cancer returned with a vengeance he was not expected to live three months, his will to live and positive attitude gave us an extra four years.

Amazing. I hear so many stories like these that I do not take doctors seriously anymore when they predict that someone is about to pop off.

A very ingenious idea. He can’t lose, can he? Either he wins a wad of cash or he dies and losing the money doesn’t matter. And as he says, a great incentive to stay alive as long as he can.

The best of the story is that there are no losers in this game!

This is a magnificent story on all sides! His spirit and what he plans to do with the money are marvelous as is the spirit of those so willing to pay off. Delightful!

  4. Uplifting post. Now that is the reverse bet that you place with life insurance companies! If you live, you lose and they win!

What is more interesting is that the man wants to use the money for the good of other people who may happen not to have the courage he posseses. Now the bet is not only his, there are many people who will be praying that he should be alive when the next pay off. This is wonderful.

I envy his spirit. He is so amazing. I hope some people will realize that, too.

By the way, yes, it works good again. Thank you very much, Ramana.

Good. I am glad that you now have a working system. Great week end. I have a perpetual week end as I am on permanent vacation. Everyday is a holiday for me!

  7. As a person comes to realize soul decides when transition from the physical form occurs, then that person no longer assumes what people outside himself say on impending death. Many people are diagnosed with terminal illness and told they have little time to live. For those who choose not to listen, their destiny often differs from those whose thoughts, mood and words elicit feelings of being already dead.

I am envious of the man for his spirit. I hope to, one day, deal with death as a concept, with the same level of bravery and casualness. Kudos to him!

I am, of course, always happy to see these kinds of stories. I do think this gentleman’s attitude has a lot to do with his liveliness. He also seems to know himself well enough that he knew what to do to give himself incentive. I hope we can learn from him and that he has many years to teach us more.
