Meme From Grannymar.
By Rummuser. Filed in Philosophy, Religion, Writing |
I have been sent a meme by Grannymar. I normally do not participate in memes but I simply cannot say no to Grannymar, particularly when she says that I am part of the gang of five people, who “make me struggle and suffer while chewing my pen each week, so now it is my turn to torment them! ”
In all fairness, Grannymar, who is just 28 was sent the meme by Darlene who is 82! So, cannot really break the chain started by such a spirited lady can one? What makes it impossible is this statement from Grannymar, which I reproduce in toto.
“I have been tagged by Darlene of Darlene’s Hodgepodge to do a Meme. Darlene began blogging at the very young age of 82!
YES! I did say 82.
Since then, despite a fall and hip surgery she has returned to living alone and blogging. A very wise and humorous lady, I could learn plenty just sitting at Darlene’s feet.”
And I am sure that I can learn a thing or two, if I were to sit at Grannymar’s feet.
The idea of the meme is to simply to pick the book nearest to you, turn to page 161 and copy the fifth sentence. And send it on to five people with the request that the meme be passed on to five others. Since my gang of five has alredy been hijacked by Grannymar, I have to choose five others and they are:
1. Gaelikaa
2. Looney
3. Square Peg in a Round World
4. Nick and
5. Tikno.
The book nearest to me just now is “Hindu Dharma – The Universal Way Of Life”, by Pujyasri Swami, Chandrasekharendra Saraswati.
The fifth sentence of the fifth page reads – “Dharma – and dharma alone – is our protecting shield.”
May Dharma protect Darlene, the gang of six (including Grannymar) and the five unsuspecting bloggers, who have just been invited to “have fun.” I am passing on the meme. Please pass on or not, as you decide. No offense will be taken if you decide not to.

28! Who are you kidding
It is not even my waist size.
*Skips off singing – “I am only twenty eight, La da dee da”!*

You have just been promoted to 23/24, by Darlene. I have suggested that you are likely to do the Swan Lake when you read that comment.

What an incredible random line that turned out to be! “Dharma – and dharma alone – is our protecting shield”!!!

If you have the book, you should read it from the first word to the last. Why it is nearest to my computer is precisely for the reason that I keep going to it whenever I take a break from the computer.

My goodness – I am humbled by the kind comments. Thank you, Grannymar and Rummuser. For the record, I was 83 when I started blogging and have had a birthday since then making me an aged 84. Time flies when you’re having fun!

Now you have gone and made Grannymar younger and she is just about to have her shock absorber replaced. When she comes home, she will do the Swan Lake!

The book nearest me at the moment is the Santa Monica Daily Press, but this only has 24 pages. Do you have any guidance on how to comply?

Good, there are five plus pages. Fifth page, start from the top left and the fifth beginning after a fullstop, should do the trick!

My goodness, Ramaji, what a prolific blogger you are! I didn’t come in for two days and three posts already, including a nice meme for me! Well, I shall do it some time this week. Thank you for passing it on to me, I take up the challenge.

All the best. In the bargain, I made another blogger friend too!
