Cowboy Joe!

In my Grannymar post I received this comment from Conrad – “Gun totin’ GM and Cowboy Joe – Mayo was elected to that title our Senior year of High School, a most coveted title in our neck of the woods. Being an Indian, do you think you should encourage that?”

Conrad, I am the original Indian, not the Red variety that Cowboy Joe might have confronted in his prime. So, I have no opinion on your question on that score. You must really find yourself a Cherokee or someone like that.

I save that particular response for this blog and in my earlier blog, I answered – “Now, we need to do something about cowboy Joe shouldn’t we? Let me put on my creative cap and see what I can come up with.”

This is what I have come up with.

maynard-cowboy

Conrad, do you think that he has lived up to his potential? Or should we leave that answer to Corky?

Who in the “hell” is this guy? That is porn! At least expose the pectoral area and cover up the face. Good God, man!!!!!

  2. Comment by Judy Harper:

Reminds me more of “Howdy Doody Time”. The red headed, freckled faced puppet from the 50′s. lol Anyone remember the TV show? Good try though, Ramana.

  3. Comment by Grannymar:

    Nearly there!

  4. Comment by Conrad:

I like it! Is that a girl’s hat? Nice feather, Mil.

I think he is everything we could have hoped for, LOL. And, Ramana, I thought you were one of the rare New Delhi Cherokee!

    Rummuser Reply:

What a flattering thought! The New Delhi Variety are parasites and cannibals!

Nice outfit! He looks harmless. The cowboys in movies now have guns.

    Rummuser Reply:

    The guns are with GM.

How do folks in your area of the world react to the concept of “cowboys”, Ramana, let alone the knowledge that Native Americans were referred to as “indians”?

    Rummuser Reply:

Mitch, my Surname is Rajgopaul. Raj is for King Gopal is for cowboy. My family is therefore named after the King of Cowboys, our Lord Krishna. We do not call them cowboys and they do not chase cows from horseback. Our cows and other cattle and livestock were domesticated six thousand years ago! About the American Indians, I keep joking with all my American friends that I am the original version unlike the Red variety. I am the good Indian! I believe that it is now politically incorrect to call them Indians as both the original version and the American version tend to get upset! Silly, if you ask me.

Ramana – there is not a doubt in my mind that Maynard deserved this picture. Conrad is right “Cowboy Joe” was and still is a high school honor here in Abilene – we are afterall the Abilene Cowboys and Cowgirls. My childhood fantasy was to marry a cowboy and live blissfully on a cattle ranch with lots of little cowboys running around. I must say with your rendition of Cowboy Joe, I may be finally, once and for all, cured of this fantasy!
