Music.

Shackman who came up with the topic for today’s LBC post lives music. His memory functions like no other when it comes to picking the appropriate songs for occasions and I never stop being amazed at his knowledge.

I too can think of some songs from way back when at need and often do in my correspondence when a song would be more appropriate than mere words. So, today as soon as I read the topic’s name, I knew exactly the song that would fit in for this post.

Dance the body music. Make you feel so happy.
Dance the body music. Music makes you happy.

Hear the music play. Feel your body sway.
Hear the DJ say. Oh.. what a big smash, big smash.

(repeat *)
(repeat *)

Feel the sexy beat. Warm enough your feet.
Feel your body heat. Oh.. what a big smash, big smash.

**
Dance the body music (Dance the body music)
Make you feel so happy (Make you feel so happy)
Dance the body music (Dance the body music)
Music makes you happy (Music makes you happy)

Happy, so happy ….yea..ae..ae…he
Happy, so happy ….yea..ae..ae…he

On the other hand, what emotions does this song evoke? Have you ever received a Dear John letter? I have and I used to sing this song to overcome those emotions.

I got a letter from my mama just a line or two She said listen daddy your good girl’s leavin’ you
That’s all she wrote didn’t write no more She’d left the gloom a hanging round my front door

Now I woke up this morning a quarter past three I just couldn’t realize this could happen to me
That’s all she wrote…

Now listen pretty mama you know you done me wrong Didn’t even give a warning till after you were gone
That’s all you wrote…

Now someday you’ll be sorry your heart will ache with pain You’d give a million dollars to write that note again
That’s all you wrote…

Now listen all you ramblers who think your girl is true Don’t ever be too certain or you’ll be singing too
That’s all she wrote…

I’ll always love you honey although you done me wrong But when you ask forgiveness I’ll just say travel on
That’s all I’ll write won’t write more The gloom will then be hanging round your front door

And there are people out there whose stories may never get known outside their immediate circles if not for music like this.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post on the weekly Friday Loose Bloggers Consortium where thirteen of us write on the same topic. Today’s topic has been chosen by Shackman. The twelve other bloggers who write regularly are, in alphabetical order, Anu, Delirious, gaelikaa, Grannymar, Maxi, Maria SF, ocdwriter, Padmum, Paul, Rohit, Shackman, The Old Fossil and Will. Do drop in on their blogs and see what their take is on this week’s topic. Since some of them may post late, do give some allowance for that too!
