Blended.

Blended_(2014)_Poster

I went to see this film with great expectation because it had Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in it. I skipped my daily siesta to go for the matinee 3.00 pm show and I wish that I had not.

Both stars come up with good performances but the story line simply is too simple and the plot rather insipid for them to resuscitate the film from being a drag.

To add to my misery, the pre show coffee was not available as the machine had conked out and I was given the worst tea that I have ever had the misfortune to drink.  The saving grace was the papri chaat after the show which again was rather a rushed affair as the air conditioning in the mall was not working and it was suffocating.

Pity that the multiplexes do not have a money back guarantee scheme for me to have got into some exchange of mails.  I would give just [rating=2] for this avoidable film.

No problem on taking your advice on this recommendation. As fate would have it however, I am not nor have I ever been an Adam Sandler fan. I had to double check before responding to your post but I can say positively that I have never watched a film which starred Sandler from beginning to end. “The Water Boy” was as close as I ever came and that equated to about a half hour or so.

I am definitely a fan of Barrymore’s but that’s not reason enough to watch a film she stars in when she plays against actors whom I don’t care for.

Anyway, thanks for the review on the film! 🙂

    • My pleasure Alan. I investigated if I could get a DVD of Big Daddy that Tammy recommends and find that it is not on DVD. I shall try and see if someone has it somewhere as a used record. Other than that, I simply go to the movies when something catches my eyes in the morning papers and I have some free time.

if you haven’t seen adam sandler in ‘big daddy’ you should.
it’s the only thing i’ve ever seen him in that i liked. the little boy (twins… who played the one part) stole the show however. he was priceless.
    i too like drew barrymore.
and i’d heard pretty much the same about ‘blended’ as your review here.
but without your wonderful humour! LOLOL.
thanks rummy. won’t be wasting my money!

  4. I don’t care for the combo myself – just watched Barrymore in a cute 2005 comedy called Fever Pitch though

Sandler annoys the p*** out of me so wouldn’t want to see it. Plots with anything he’s associated with fall flat and simplistic and I despise his leery face.
Sorry to be so ambivalent, LOL.

I’d sooner visit the dentist than watch Adam Sandler on screen; but Drew Barrymore .. Ahh! .. she could make an old man very happy. 😉
