Men May Not Understand Women After All!

men and women

Finally scientific proof and a perfectly logical explanation for that long standing belief that men do not understand women.

An article in the Pacific Standard says that the researchers conclude that “From an evolutionary point of view, accurate interpretations of other men’s, rather than women’s, thoughts and intentions—especially threatening cues—may have been a factor contributing to survival in ancient times. As men were more involved in hunting and territory fights, it would have been important to them to be able to predict and foresee the intentions and actions of their male rivals.”

It goes on to say that men’s strength in reading the faces of other men is important even today in business situtations and that explains why there is such good male bonding!

I think women understand men ( pretty well ) but not the other way round – I mean it was man’s rib that was yanked out so a few brain cells went with it !

  3. Actually men don’t always understand men either. My group leader used to take me to management meetings to check his readings of what was going on between the participants.

If you don’t mind me saying so, I think that’s complete nonsense. Just another ridiculous theory that excuses men’s inability to communicate. Men would understand women perfectly well if they just bothered to listen properly, be a bit more sensitive and imaginative, and see things from a woman’s point of view.

I am Ursula. And don’t claim to understand anything about anyone. All I do know which box to tick when a form asks me to do so. Being female pays when you apply for life insurance.

Hugs and kisses to all of you understood, not understood, misunderstood, not even trying, trying but getting nowhere, mysteries to ourselves,

My advice to men is don’t even try to understand a woman ’cause … as soon as she thinks you do, a woman will go in the other direction.

  9. Hmm…was there an assumption the men DID understand women? There is the old theory you know, that the subjugated read their oppressors well, and that the converse is not true.
Maybe we have years of practice:)

Bull honkey donkey.  That sample is way too small and doesn’t mention the fact that when men deal with women they are often overly influenced by the smaller head.  Ahem.  🙂
